Tig
Adrenaline and love had masked the pain in the hastily tended gash. Now that the engulfing blanket of sleep was drawing back, tendrils of agony began to snake along his arm. V'sos twitched in his sleep as he cradled Lalo against his chest, not wanting to face reality just yet. He wanted to stay in this wonderful bubble, hidden from the rest of the world, with his Weyrmate.
Her delicate and feminine scent caressed his nose, teasing him with the good part of reality. He felt her lips press against his in a soft kiss. His response was just as tender. His eyes drifted open, still heavy with the last vestiges of sleep.
The Bluerider smiled slowly up at his Greenrider, still ignoring his arm for the moment. He reached up with his good hand to brush a wayward strand of red hair out of Laloraine's emerald eyes. He could stare into those deep pools all day. It had been Turns since he'd felt so complete.
"Good morning, my Love." He said, voice throaty with emotion. He tramped down the sudden flare of pain, barely suppressing a grimace. His arm could be looked at later, right now he wanted to savor this quiet time with his new Weyrmate.
"Would you like some breakfast?" He glanced around at their stark surroundings, belatedly recalling that they were still in the infirmary. "Or perhaps we could retire to your weyr?"
When he sat up, still holding Lalo to him, he couldn't stifle the groan of pain.
Are you alright, V'sosmine? Kimkinth's voice was suddenly sharp and clear, the fear of losing his Mine yesterday was still present in the massive Blue's memory. His deep azure mass engulfed the dainty Green he protected on their ledge. He had fought to win her and couldn't help but feel smug at his victory.
I'll be fine. Don't you worry.
Varith'smine will want to see you. Kimkinth reminded before he resumed his cuddle with Ilydeth. Crooning with contentment.
V'sos wrinkled his nose, he didn't want to be distracted from Lalo, but his dragon was right. To stall the inevitable, V'sos pulled Laloraine gentle back down beside him on the hard exam table. "We could hide out here a little longer, forestall reality and steal us some more time."
