Physical description: Zory stands at a respectable 5'7", extracting every possible inch of her height with practiced posture. Although she has dimples in her smooth, fair cheeks, her lips seem permanently downturned and there are always deep circles under her eyes. She favors comfortable tunics with rolled-back sleeves and heavily broken-in footwear. Her long, straight blonde hair is usually tied back with a strip of leather to keep it out of her dark, flat-green eyes.
Personality description: Zory presents as a no-nonsense, brisk woman with genuine dedication to her craft. At times, her heavy demeanor is more suited for someone twice her age with twice as much experience. Her smiles come as rarely as her jokes and as a result, her reputation is rather cold. Despite her terse nature, she has very gentle hands, works long hours to ensure the health of her patients, and can often be found refining her notes in the same general vicinity of wherever the Harper happens to be playing that evening.
Behind closed doors, she is very much a romantic, but would be utterly appalled if anyone ever found out.
History: Zoryana was born and raised in Benden Weyr to a leathersmith and a farmer. Although either would have been happy to take her as an apprentice for their skills, they weren't disappointed when she applied to be trained as an apprentice healer instead. Through her younger turns, she studied hard, eventually attaining the rank of Journeyman at 20 turns of age. When she was Searched as a Candidate a full three turns later, her parents fully expected her to decline.
To their surprise, she agreed to join the crowd of Candidates for the upcoming clutch. What surprised them even more was that she did manage to Impress - a Silver, no less! For Zory and Varith, their bond was instant and overwhelmingly emotional. The Journeywoman cared for her dragon with intense, deeply rooted protectiveness - "No different from anyone else," she often shrugged, when her parents pointed it out. For the next few turns, she was often pulled between her duties as a Healer and a Rider. Coming to Xian Weyr seemed like the dutiful thing to do, so she agreed to relocate when asked.
In most of her free time, Zory writes letters: to her parents, to her former teachers, but most especially to the Weyrhealer of Sea Cliff Seahold. Since she was 19, the two have been corresponding, sharing little discoveries and tales of patients gone awry, but they've never been able to visit one another because her correspondent is regrettably even more busy than she is.

Dragon's Physical Description: Varith is one of the smaller Silvers, unimpressive in size and hue, with a long, sinuous tail that is in near-constant motion. Her eyes are almost too large for her draconic skull and she blinks very slowly.
Dragon's Personality Description: Where Zory is stoic, Varith is tender. Any hint of pain in her fellow dragons is enough to catch Varith’s immediate attention and she can sometimes be guilty of behaving much too protectively over eggs, even when it’s another dragon’s clutch on the sands. When she is able to relax, Varith quite enjoys sunbathing, teasing younger dragons, and loitering near any herdbeast fields for a quick snack.
