Name: Aislyn
Gender: Female
Age: Nineteen
Sexuality: Homosexual (She just flirts with everyone)
Physical description: Aislyn has thick, bright red hair that falls just past her shoulder blades. Her bangs tend to fall into her eyes and often times her hair is pulled back into a tail so that it won't get in her way. Her eyes are a very light sapphire color with a small freckle right underneath her left eye. Although she doesn't spend much time out in the sun, her skin is usually found to have a nice tan as though she'd be outside for hours. To her endless amusement, Aislyn stands at five foot seven and is the same height as her father. Her body is lean and lithe, athletic looking regardless of how much time she has spent indoors. Her athletic look caused her to lose some of the womanly curves most women her age usually had, but she'll never be mistaken for a boy. Aislyn is usually found wearing trousers as she doesn't see the point in wearing dresses or skirts. [That's mainly because she often tends to trip on the hems.] The only time she'd ever been seen in anything feminine in nature is during extremely special occasions. If one was ever to catch sight of her without a shirt on[though why would you be watching her while she dresses D<], they would see a rather mild childhood scar on her shoulder. While certainly not plain or ugly, Aislyn is far from being considered 'beautiful'. Attractive enough to not have any worries over self-esteem, this red-head takes pride in her looks. Wide eyes give her the innocent look that can be very deceiving. Her nose seems to tilt to the left just slightly as if had been broken and not healed completely right. She has a rather stubborn chin, which shows off a bit of her personality according to her father. Her face is usually graced with an amused grin, as if she finds something funny about most things, or a wicked smirk.
Personality description: Be careful when offering up something that this one might consider fun and exciting; you can bet she'll be the first one lined up and ready to go. She's brave [or perhaps careless] enough at times to act first and ask questions later. This has lead to some rather sticky situations she's barely managed to talk herself out of. Aislyn can be a competitive person, something she isn't always proud of. Especially when it leads up to her getting a temper if things didn't go the way she had hoped. She may not be the best at whatever she attempts to do, but she never lacks in effort. She's very driven in anything she chooses to do, and works very hard to make sure she is at the same level as her fellows. When it comes to the things she can't help but fail at [because obviously she can't be good at everything, regardless of what she thinks], her fuse is very short. And if given enough time, she could explode in her frustration and lash out at others who are good at the tasks. Though she'll be quick to give a mumbled apology. But, in all, she'll work hard at anything she does and tries to do everything to the best of her ability. This red head tends to make rivals easily with her competitive nature, regardless if they're on her side or not. But she can easily confuse rivals with friends. She just doesn't see the difference. This girl has never been very good when it comes to waiting. She's extremely impatient and can get frustrated when any kind of waiting is involved. Unless she has deemed it worth the wait, but she'll still grumble to herself. When it comes to matters of the heart, this girl fails. Hard. Aislyn has never held an interest in anyone her entire life. Was that boy over there flirting with her? She didn't notice, she was busy. Did that girl just confess her love to the red head? She didn't understand what she meant. This girl is very much dense when it comes to the affections of another. And surely this might dishearten some suitors, but don't give up! When it comes to someone who has caught this girl's interest, you can expect her to pursue that. Often. Every time she might see that person, she'll make a point to flirt with them. However, sometimes her flirting goes a bit too far and she'll end up going down that pervy road. She'll blame the fact that she's lived a life surrounded by many men. Aislyn doesn't see any problems in being with the same gender, however. If there's a person out there who could spark some romantic interest in Aislyn, then why should she judge them based on their gender? Now when it comes to people she doesn't like, or who she feels annoy her; it's very obvious. She can either ignore them or she tends to hit them. Did that boy make a comment about her being a dimglow? Yep, you can bet he'll be sporting a bruise on his arm the next day. While she does have a well trained voice when singing, she doesn't use it very often anymore.
Strengths and Weaknesses:

- Impatient, careless at times, short fuse, competitive.
Likes and Dislikes:

History: Aislyn was born the daughter of a Journeyman Harper and a woman from the Harperhall who died during childbirth. However, seeing as her father did not wish to stay at the hall for very long and couldn't take her with him, Aislyn was raised by her milk mother there at the hall. She was treated very much like the woman's own daughter and whenever her father did come back, it was always with smiles and presents. In all, most of her childhood was mostly the same as other children. But she learned how to write and read early on, something her father had made sure that would be taken care of. As she grew up, it was obvious she had inherited her father's singing talent. She was also very talented at writing and fabricating stories. But Aislyn never held any real interest in the craft, no matter how talented she was. She preferred to do things she thought were exciting. However, there wasn't much to do that would keep her attention for long at the hall. In fact, because of the lack of exciting things to do, Aislyn would end up running around in an attempt to find anything to do. So she was considered to be either quite helpful or annoying by some people. As soon as she reached ten turns, her father began to spend more time at the Harperhall and it was during this time that he began to teach her more about singing. She found that she did enjoy singing and continued to practice, training her voice as much as possible. Until she finally reached the skill that she was accepted as an Apprentice to the Harper craft. It was then that her competitive personality finally came out. Did that master say that so and so had a better voice? Well then she would work extra hard to show them! She made quite a few friends and the occasional rival, but it was somewhat obvious that she was a tad bit popular amongst the males and females alike. Something that got her father irritated and her milk mother amused. Though Aislyn never understood why they both acted like that. As the turns went by, she lost more and more interest in being a harper. But she continued her apprenticeship, learning more and more things until the day came when she could've walked the tables to become a Journeywoman. She refused to walk, saying she wasn't quite ready for the rank despite the claims offered. In reality, it was her not wanting to disappoint her father or milk mother that she even stayed in the Harperhall. She wanted to leave, go on some kind of adventure. But all her ties were there at the hall. However, she often day dreamed of life outside the crafthall and what adventures could've been hiding beyond the walls of her home. About a month after her nineteenth turn, Aislyn began to hear whispers about a rider showing up. Curious, the girl went off to search for this visitor; starting with the obvious place - outside. There were no signs of the rider, however, a blue was present. Eyes widened at the sight as she drank it all in, knowing that with that dragon must come all kinds of adventures! How lucky it's rider must be, how proud...oh..it was looking at her! Sure enough, it seemed that the dragon had indeed been looking at her and for some reason she has still yet to discover, she ended up walking closer to get a better look. It wasn't long before a hand was placed on her shoulder and she was caught by the rider. Never in a billion turns had she thought she'd ever, ever be offered a chance to Stand. So when given the offer she jumped at it and somehow convinced her father that if she should fail to Impress she'd be back to finish her training. Maybe. She is determined to take the candidate lessons very seriously, they are there to help her chances at Impressing, no? She was only a candidate for a few months before she heard about volunteers being needed to go to a new weyr. Aislyn being Aislyn jumped at the chance, considering it an added adventure to the whole attempting to become a rider one.
