Physical description: Laera is a diminutive, portly woman. She has ample bosom, and very round hips. Everything about the woman is round—her face, her eyes and her rear end. She has salt and paper curls that she keeps braided back out of the way, and friendly blue eyes that crinkle into crow’s feet when she smiles. She has a button nose, and full lips that sit below and often are quirked upward into a smile that reveals dimples in her full cheeks.
Personality description: Laera is a very practical, plucky woman. Perpetually cheerful, not much gets her down. You often can hear her whistling or humming under her breath as she works. Very approachable, the woman is exceedingly friendly, as well as hard-working. It is hard to get on her bad side, but once you are there, it is equally as hard to get off of it. When Laera gets talking, it is hard to get her to stop, and likewise, once she gets started on a rant, she will not easily be derailed. Laera is a very stubborn woman, and a bit stuck in her ways. If she thinks something should be done a certain way, she will boss people around to make sure that it is done that way. Laera is motherly to all of the dragonriders, and cares for them all as if they were her children, and can often be found clucking her tongue fondly at their actions. All in all, the Headwoman is a very lovable woman.
History: Laera grew up in the Lower Caverns of Telgar Weyr, a daughter of a lusty dragon rider and a drudge. She grew up under the stern but loving care of her mother, and inherited her incredible work ethic. Over the Turns, Laera grew to take pride in her work, and enjoyed taking care of Telgar. When the position of Headwoman at Xian Weyr came available, the woman jumped at the chance, knowing that she had the passion and the skill set for the job.
