Physical description: Prentis is this gangly stick of a boy. Thin, with unblemished skin and deep blue eyes, Prentis likes to look well kept. Back at Benden he'd always had a servant to help him prepare but now that he's doing it on his own it's just so hard. His clothing is always rich with color, especially golds. He just doesn't want anyone to confuse him with mere peasants. you can tell he's entered the room simply when he speaks. His voice has this shrill quality to it, an apt simile would be running your fingers on the chalkboard.
Personality description: Prentis the pretentious is what they called him back home. Not to his face of course. That would only make him upset. And no one likes it when Prentis is upset because then he throws tantrums. Not physical tantrums, but he tends to get whiney and demand some respect, else he'll tell his daddy. He's always demanding things, especially order. Everything has to be neat and orderly when he's around, else he'll tell the nearest authorities. He won't be very good at chores because as far as he's concerned, manual labor "is for those dimwitted peasants." He's always expecting people to know who he is, and often you'll find him using baby talk to grown men, simply to "make it easier for them to understand." as he would say. He's a massive suck-up to authority, as they'll give him anything. He's a braggart, believing in his own superiority and assuming he's more intelligent and skilled than the "peasants." He takes what he already has for granted, and as far as he's concerned, Pern is lucky to have him on it.

History:
BIRTH-Prentis is born to the lord and lady holder of Benden Hold, they don't know what they're in for.
CHILDHOOD-Okay for the most part. Other children would be jealous of what he has. He's become a nuisance to his father, who hoped to have someone decent to pass his hold on to. But his parents may have spoiled him too much. They never make that mistake with their other children.
JOURNEY SOUTH-Prentis's father finally grows sick of his eldest son and decides to dump him as far away as he can manage. Xian is taking in new recruits so he gets a rider to take Prentis south, with "promises" that his son will quickly rise to power.
